My Story
Hey, I'm Ted. An Australian Slopestyle/Freeride Mountain Biker. Bikes give me freedom. Freedom to express myself, to explore fear and to chase progression. I've been chasing a goal to compete at the highest level for a few years now and I'm here to document exactly what it looks like to get there. To go from learning my first trick at the local skatepark, to landing my biggest tricks in global competitions.
From The Beginning
My journey Chasing the Mirage
My journey with Slopestyle started in January 2020, back home in Perth, Western Australia. I picked up my first dirt jump bike and headed straight to the local skate park, determined to learn a new trick every week. From there, the jumps got bigger, the tricks got better and the broken parts started stacking up. But more than anything, my love for the sport kept growing.
What started as a hobby quickly turned into something more, a way to express myself through the way I ride and the tricks I choose to chase. It became a passion, then a dream. To one day compete with the best riders in the world.
When I turned 19, I realised if I wanted to take this seriously, I needed better facilities and more opportunities to ride. So I made the biggest move of my life. I left the west coast, moved into a van, and headed east. For the next three years, I lived on the road, travelling up and down Australia’s east coast, training, competing, and meeting a bunch of incredible riders and people who shaped the way I ride and think about the sport.
In that time, I’ve ridden in events like Crankworx Cairns, filmed projects I’m proud of, progressed my riding, and built a deeper connection with the Slopestyle scene, not just as a rider, but as someone who wants to help grow the sport here in Australia.
Now I’m starting to think about the next step. Where to ride? Who to ride with? What it’s going to take to keep progressing, and keep chasing this dream at a higher level?
I’m grateful for how far this journey has already taken me, but it still feels like I’m just getting started.
