It's Been a While

So yeah, I have actually lost count of the number of blogs I have missed. I've just had some minor things to sort out, like moving across the country, buying a van, building it out so I can live in it and starting a new job. It has been quite the change of pace compared to 5 weeks ago back in Perth, but I'm loving every second.
So I landed in Sydney in mid March with a bike bag and backpack, ready to rebuild my life here in Sydney. I'm back working at the same bike shop I worked in 3 years ago which feels in some ways like I've not progressed at all. But it also feels familiar. Well because it is, but I also feel like I have a solid base in Sydney now, where I can build the life I want, not just try and survive moving cities. Having all the little things sorted out already gives me the space to create my life.
All my previous moves have been justified with the promise of better riding facilities. But not this one. In all honesty when I'm asked, "Why Sydney?" It's a harder one to answer this time. This time I made this decision purely based on the feeling I had while living here. I think It's a sense of community within the riding scene that drew me back.

These last few days I have ridden with so many cool people in some very cool riding spots and I've finished the weekend with my love for riding reignited. The last year has been hard. I had lost my reasons for riding. Reason to push myself. This became very apparent in Christ Church, competing, earlier in the year. There just wasn't the drive there to ride at the level I needed too.
But now? Oh we're so back. I've just ridden 4 days in a row. I feel like I did when I first started riding. Just absolutely obsessed. Bikes are the best. I think it is this sense of community that I have been missing. I have learnt that it is a very important ingredient in the recipe of Ted riding at his best and feeling his best.
So it is safe to say I won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
