Personal growth life hack

So I've lived in 4 cities in 5 years. The motivation behind moving so much has at a surface level, been to chase better riding facilities to train on. But I have been thinking lately, if that was truly the only reason, then why have I jumped to make decisions to move so quickly and with fairly small amounts of friction? I think there are actually a lot of other benefits behind the decision that I have stumbled across over my travels. I hope that these reasons can maybe justify moving again, with the riding aspect put aside, and to purely better my life.
The most obvious one that comes to mind is the space to think. With the lack of routine that inevitably comes with moving, I usually find myself with a lot of free time in the first month or so. After that, a routine sets in and the days start blending together as you flow from one activity to another, often without time in between.
I feel like I am just before that point here in Sweden. I have one goal which is obviously my riding, and that leaves me with extra time to spend however id like. The hardest part of this is letting myself sit still without guilt and actually think. And once I get to that point, it really allows me to just take a step back and look at my life and see if I'm happy with everything that's happening.

Another opportunity moving brings is the chance to start fresh. Now this is a little cliche but it really does make sense to me now. When you are almost certain that you won't come across anyone that has a preconceived opinion about you on any given day, it really gives you an incredible opportunity to mold yourself into a new person without judgement. That new diet you wanted to try but you weren't sure what your friends would think, or the new hobby you're interested in but are scared to try. Moving to a different place is the biggest hack to grow as a person. You just get to pretend to be someone you might not be yet, but want to be. And no one knows any better.
The last major shift In mindset that moving places brings is a broader perspective. On everything. You end up putting yourself in the shoes of the people around you, and seeing the world in a whole different way.
"I think that the world is infatuated with being either blue or red, and I think all of the answers are being purple" - Gary Vaynerchuk
This quote sums this up nicely I think. Your views on things can be aligned closely with where you live and until you can see things from a different perspective, one that you didn't even know existed, then your opinion of what purple is will always be skewed.

I often think about where I'd like to settle down one day. And I have no idea. But I also have a bit of time to figure that out. I'm not sure there is any perfect place either. Maybe it can be better for the stage of life I'm in, but longer term I think I'm just going to have to pick somewhere and create the life I want. I also have the benefit of knowing a lot of amazing people from lots of different places, which is sometimes a down side because I'm always missing someone. Anyway, I've got tricks to learn. Hope you enjoyed this one, was quite enjoyable to write.
See ya next week...
