Where to move next?

A quote that I have been subconsciously living by for the last 6 months.

"Try to be directionally correct instead of trying to be absolutely correct."

Recently, with the move to Sweden and the time spent back home, balance has gone out the window.

In Sweden, most of my time was spent either sending new tricks to the airbag, or recovering from a session where that didn't go to plan. And back home, while I have enjoyed the downtime and especially the backyard cricket, my opportunities to ride at my best have been limited.

This quote applies to both situations. To me, it means choosing the highest leverage actions and being realistic about what actually makes a tangible difference to your life. But sometimes they aren't always available. So in Sweden the highest leverage action is throwing my body around on an airbag, and at home, well... backyard cricket.

So directionally, I am moving towards my goals in both situations. I am taking advantage of the facilities when I have them, and I'm taking advantage of being home, to really enjoy it before I inevitably move again.

If i was to try and force something that the context didn't offer, this is not a good use of my time. I risk injury if I push to hard on insufficient facilities, and I lose training time If i somehow manage to play cricket in the snow.

So now looking forward to decide where I want to move this year, I of course want to try and balance social life and career the way I see fit, but I'm not stressing about all the little details. Those are the main 2 areas In my life I want optimize in this next move. Heading towards those is directionally correct and I can work out the details along the way.

I am very excited for this year. I feel like I'm ready for whatever gets thrown my way. I'm sure that statement will be tested, and I'm looking forward to it.
